Getting involved with online social networks is very important for your online business.  It is a way to meet new people, and share your business with them.  One of the newest and most popular networks online today is Twitter.

You might be asking yourself, what is twitter, and why is it important to add to my daily business routine.  First off, twitter can be found on http://twitter.com.  It is simple to set up an account and the best part is that it is free.  This is just another way to market and network online without any cost involved.  One of the points to remember is to input your website’s URL and a bit about yourself or your business, which will help when networking with others.

TWITTER

Everybody is talking about Twitter — Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (or “tweets”; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website via instant message delivery.

Updates are displayed on the user’s profile page and instantly delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone is the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application. You can even add it to your Facebook account.
